Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash
New Franklin, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two vehicle, fatal crash that occurred on August 26, 2018 at approximately 5:28 P.M. The crash occurred on State Route 93 (Manchester Road) near Green Valley Drive in the City of New Franklin, Summit County.
The crash occurred when a red 2008 Pontiac G6, driven by Jonna Andrews, age 71, failed to yield from a private drive and was struck by a southbound blue 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle ridden by Kurt Kallenborn, age 60. After striking the vehicle, Mr. Kallenborn and his passenger, Toni Kallenborn, age 54, were ejected from the motorcycle. Mrs. Kallenborn sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. Mr. Kallenborn was transported to Akron City Hospital with serious injuries. Neither motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.
Mrs. Andrews sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated at the scene by the New Franklin Fire Department. She was wearing her seatbelt when the crash occurred.
It is unknown if alcohol is a factor in this crash.
This crash remains under investigation.
