Patrol Investigates a Two
Vehicle Fatal Crash in Auburn Township
Auburn Township - The Chardon Highway Patrol Post is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on September 10, 2018 at 3:12 P.M. The two vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Washington Street and Munn Road in Auburn Township, Geauga County.
Driver #1 - Gail Prunty, age 49, of Stow, Ohio was operating a 2017 Ford Escape. Ms. Prunty was transported to University Hospitals Geauga Health Center. She was treated and released. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Driver #2 - Tamra Bell, age 37, of Burton, Ohio was operating a 2005 Honda Accord. Mrs. Bell was transported to the Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital. She was treated and released. Seatbelt use is unknown at this time.
There were three passengers in the vehicle.
Ambor Keyes, age 29, of Garrettsville, Ohio. Mrs. Keyes was treated at the scene and released. Mrs. Keye was wearing a seatbelt.
Norah Bell, age 6, of Burton, Ohio. Ms. Bell was transported to Cleveland Metro Hospital with life threatening injuries. Ms. Bell was seated in a child seat.
Paisley Vanek, age 3, of Garrettsville, Ohio. Ms. Vanek was transported to University Hospital. Ahuja Medical Center. Ms. Vanek was pronounced dead on Monday, September 10, 2018 as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash. Ms. Vanek was seated in a child seat.
Ms. Prunty was southbound on Munn Road. Mrs. Bell was eastbound on Washington Street. Ms. Prunty failed to stop for the traffic signal striking Mrs. Bell on the left side.
Mrs. Bell traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a utility pole.
Assisting agencies on scene were the Geauga County Sheriff Department and Auburn Fire Department.
This is the 5th reported traffic fatality in Geauga County in 2018.
