Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Felony Apprehension

Youngstown  The Ohio State Highway Patrol Canfield Post was involved in a pursuit on July 4, 2018 at 1036 hours.

A 2004 Ford F-350, was stopped initially for a speed violation on I.R. 680 near Meridian Road.  The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.  The license plate was ran through dispatch and came back stolen out of Warren.  The vehicle exited I.R. 680 at Meridian Road and traveled south to Mahoning Avenue.  The pursuit went east on Mahoning Avenue to I.R. 680.  The stolen vehicle exited on Midlothian Boulevard and drove around a few side streets before crashing through a fence and coming to rest in Ipes Field.  The suspect fled the scene on foot and was apprehended.

The suspect, Andrew MCCourt, 31, of Berlin Center, was transported by EMS to St. Elizabeth E.R. to be checked out.
